The specialty of the Digestive System is defined as the branch of medicine concerned with diseases affecting the digestive tract and associated glandular organs (oesophagus, stomach, small intestine, colon, rectum, anus, liver, bile ducts, and pancreas), and the effects of digestive diseases on other parts of the human body and inversely the effects of diseases of other parts of the body on digestive system.

Digestive system specialists have a good understanding of these diseases and use the necessary digestive endoscopy and ultrasound techniques to diagnose and treat them.
